Limiting Illegal Sharing and Downloading

Nowadays illegal sharing and downloading of many different types of media have become very common. Although very illegal people seem to disregard the law and fill their libraries with pirated entertainment. To combat this major issue i propose three different approaches. First, allow sharing of all media after and make it the producer of the piece to hire private consultants to police the internet and fine individuals stealing works by this individual. This will make it up to the person who created the work to choose if they would like to stop their music from being shared. This may also increase the numbers of hard copies sold in stores. Next, i propose we pay internet providers to specifically target copyrights to protect individuals and corporations. These internet providers have the best chance of providing the most efficient services and stand the best chance to help combat this issue. Lastly, we can develop specific programs to protect specific works. similar to every product having a bar code this would provide either a virus or some sort of fine to individuals who steal entertainment. They already do this with images and watermarks on the computer to prevent being re-used. Although there are lots of aspects that goes into each of these unique plans i believe after implementation and refinement they can begin to make change. I know personally i illegally download music because i know there will be little to no repercussion. If people start to feel and see these repercussions then there will be way less piracy in the world.

Blog Assignment #4

In today's society everything we do can be found and identified with on the internet. As these growing mediums evolve so do the ways individuals track user information. Whether it is over the phone on the internet or even through television and radio programing people are collecting, storing, and analyzing data related to consumers. This data can be used by delivery drivers to remember addresses or phone numbers or even by advertisers to determine the best medium for promotions. As these data collecting techniques become more widely used many consumers question where their information is being stored and what their information is being used for. Good websites can build good relationships with users by informing users of their non-willingness to share personal information. Establishing good relationships with internet users is important to any website. By failing to do so many websites can lose viewers due to trust issues. Another way websites can build trust with consumers would be to establish a well-organized website that is appealing to viewers and free of errors of any kind. Personally if I see a website that is poorly organized and is riddled with errors i am much more skeptical to plug in my information. By creating these trustful websites and creating good user experiences viewers are much more willing to return to one's website. If a website creates bad user experiences than it will also lose viewers and people will be less likely to return to that site for a second or third time.
