Blog assignment 3

http://www.apple.com/iphone-6/

I chose the Apple Iphone 6 information page because this is the newest and most desirable technological product available to the general public. the first thing this site says is "bigger than bigger" i think this is interesting because the size increase in smart phones has been happening for years and apple is one of the last ones to hop on the band wagon.

Metcalfe’s Law states that the value of a telecommunications network is proportional to the square (N^2) of the number of connected users on the system. This law is what I most agree with because first it is what makes the most sense to me. Second, the way something is squared is multiplying a certain number by itself one other time. So if there are 8 users then 8 times (X) 8 equals 64 different network connections. This is the simplest way I can figure out how many single communication connections are able to be established. If each person in the group can contact everyone else in the same network they should be able to justify that each person multiplied by the number of people who are in the network would equal the number of connections able to be made.  This makes sense to me not only in these computer networks but also in business, mathematics, and economics.
In five years from now I believe the majority of Americans will receive the bulk of their information through online sources. I believe that the recent technological advances with smart phones and tablets have only just begun and in the future these devices will be marked by television companies, radio studios, computer companies, telephone companies and many more. These devices are only becoming more advanced and one day in the future it is likely that we can eliminate the need for stationary devices like Smart televisions, and computers. The new age of mobile devices has begun and one day what cannot be downloaded as an app will begin to slowly but surly become obsolete. As these technologies advance people will begin to create the most useful and portable items where we can continue to access information in even more remote locations. The invention of the internet is not just a fad or social trend it is a whole new medium for information that I believe will continue to grow at a steady rate.
